It has been reported on Oct. 10, 2000 in the Star-Ledger, that AT&T has been fined $195,000 by the Federal Environmental Protection agency (EDA) for failing to adequately record, and detail, computer disposal practices.
This action, it is reported, is the result of a surprise inspection of the company’s waste management practices.
"In August of 2000, the EPA fined AT&T located in Morristown, New Jersey
$195,000 for failing to hand over documents detailing computer and monitor
disposal procedures." As reported on the front page of the Star-Ledger,
October 10, 2000.
